When you think of two-minute noodles, the first name that comes to your mind is Maggi. But have you ever wondered why a two-minute noodle pack should be called Maggi? It so happens that back in the 19th century a Swiss Public Welfare Society asked a miller named Julius Maggi to create a vegetable food product that would be quick to prepare and easy to digest. He came up with two, an instant pea soup and a bean soup, the first of the instant foods from the Maggi stable, in 1882-83. And that’s how the name Maggi came about.
