Fairyland, South Point win
- Kamrup Academy to clash with Rangia School today

Guwahati, May 18: Fairyland High School and South Point School won the league matches of the 5th Dhan Sena Sinha inter-school cricket tournament at Latasil ground here today. Fairyland outplayed Cotton Collegiate Higher Secondary School by 6 wickets and South Point prevailed over Gurukul High School by 20 runs.

Cotton Collegiate elected to bat first and were out for 65 in 12.5 overs. Fairyland reached 69 for four in 11 overs.

Bimal Ronpi (21, 4x4) and Krishna Sharma (12, 4x2) were the notable scorers for Cotton Collegiate and Surya Thapa of Fairyland took 4 for 17. Kumar Rai took 2 for 10.

Dipankar Das topscored for Fairyland with 19. Joy Thakuri and Kumar Rai were the other main scorers. Pawan Das and Azahar Ali of Collegiate took 2 wickets each. Surya Thapa was named the Man of the Match.

In the other match, South Point, put to bat, were restricted to 149 for seven in 20 overs and Gurukul could score only 129 for six in 20 overs. Kangkan Bharali (29), Parthajit Baishya (27) and Arpan Das (24) were the notable South Point scorers and Angshuman Das and Gitartha Sharma of Gurukul took 2 wickets each.

Angshuman Das topscored for Gurukul with a run-a-ball 74 to be named Man of the Match. Gitartha Sharma scored 14. Tanmay Dutta of South Point took 3 for 19.

Kamrup Academy Higher Secondary School will play Rangia School tomorrow.
