Spectrum pricing norms

New Delhi, May 13: The government-appointed committee for allocating and pricing of spectrum has recommended doing away with the bundled start-up frequency with the issue of a new licence. The committee has suggested that radiowaves should be given at a market determined price.

Sensex dips

Mumbai, May 13: The sensex today ended 138 points lower despite good institutional buying. The BSE touched a low of 11934.44 in early afternoon trade but recovered to a high of 12256.43. It closed at 12019.65, a fall of 138.38 points, or 1.14 per cent, from its previous close.

PM-RBI meet

New Delhi, May 13: RBI governor D. Subbarao today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and is believed to have discussed the current economic situation. The meeting comes a day after the government data revealed that industrial output contracted 2.3 per cent in March.

Suzlon bonds

New Delhi, May 13: Suzlon Energy has dropped its plans to repurchase bonds worth $166 million issued by the company in June and October 2007.

Hind Motors

Mumbai, May 13: Hindustan Motors has suffered a net loss of Rs 25.28 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31 compared with a net profit of Rs 10.95 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
