Friendly soccer match

Siliguri, May 10: Mohun Bagan Athletic Club arrived here today to play a friendly match against Jalpaiguri Municipality Eleven at Jalpaiguri Town Club Stadium tomorrow.

The exhibition match is part of the 125th year celebration of the Jalpaiguri civic body. The Calcutta footballers today practised at Kanchenjungha Stadium.

Poll counting

Siliguri: Sharad Dwivedi, the subdivisional officer of Siliguri, said during the counting of votes on May 16, supporters of political parties would not be allowed within 200 metres of the centre, or the Siliguri College premises. Persons entering the centre will be checked in three phases, the SDO said.

Drug arrest

Islampur: The 21st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal arrested Md Kashimuddin and recovered one pound of brown sugar from him on Sunday. SSB sources said Kashimuddin was picked up from Dighalbank, which is under Kishanganj district and located on the Bengal-Bihar border.

Body found

Islampur: The body of a youth, identified as Narayan Das of Bhagwanpur, was recovered from a paddy field at Kanki on Sunday. Police said the youth had been missing from Saturday and they suspected that he was murdered.
