The Natural Way

I follow the basic regime of cleansing, toning and moisturising. I am all for natural and homemade beauty treatments because they don’t have side-effects. So from using besan to milk to rose water and glycerine, I am a supporter of hundred per cent Ayurvedic and natural items.

I am a 29-year-old woman. Whenever I use creams, I get pimples. As a result, I can’t use sunscreen lotions. But I don’t want to get tanned. Is there any homemade pack that I can use as an alternative to sunscreen lotions?

Baby, via e-mail

Get hold of an oil-free sunscreen lotion. There are loads in the market to choose from. You can also make a homemade anti-tan pack using 1tsp each of sandalwood powder, fullers earth, freshly grated cucumber and a pinch of camphor. Mix them well and apply on your face. Keep it on for 10 minutes. This will reduce the tan and will also minimise oil build-up.

I am a 25-year-old. I have developed dark circles around my eyes. I suffer from sinusitis. Does that lead to the dark circles? I am taking homeopathic medicines for sinus but the dark circles have remained. I tried using creams but they ended up causing wrinkles. What should I do? Please help.

Start practising pranayaam regularly. It will keep the sinus in check. For the dark circles, mix equal amounts of almond and coconut oils and add 2-3drops of lemon juice to this. Massage the eye area with this mixture. This should be done daily for two weeks for best results.
