STAR Ananda weather girl Ritika Paul has more to offer than just a forecast of shine and shower! A t2 chat...

How did you become the STAR Ananda weather girl?

I got through after an audition. I was given three scripts to read but instead of mugging up the lines, I made up my own. A couple of days later I got a call saying that I was selected! I have 10 minutes of screen time everyday, five minutes for Ekhon Kolkata at 6pm and five for Abar Kolkata at 8pm.

How do you sex up the weather bulletin?

Well, I bagged the offer because I am sexy! The bulletin is inspired by the weather shows in the West. I sport a very sexy look in designer knee-length gowns. It’s very informal. I pep up the show by sharing my Saturday night party plans and in the middle of it I read out the weather forecast. That’s why I wear bright make-up and lively colours. My dress has to match the season too. In winters I wore a lot of Komal Sood and Agnimitra Paul. Now I am into summery gowns with floral prints. Soon I will sport a new look — cropped hair with fringes!

Who picks your outfits?

I choose them and then the show’s producer approves them. But I have to make sure that there are enough variations in my wardrobe.

The best compliment you’ve got for your look in the bulletin…

I have been told I am liked for my pretty, bubbly face!

Your sex appeal lies in…

The way I carry myself.

You look sexiest in…

A black cocktail dress.

Your hot screen look is…

Ultra glamorous, sexy, modern and, of course, hot!

One physical feature you would like to change…

My height. I wish I was taller.

One thing you will never do on screen…

I will never go nude!
