Imported insulin dearer

New Delhi, May 5: Prices of imported insulin used in treating diabetes along with some anti-septics and anti-inflammatory drugs will go up as the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has upwardly revised their prices by up to 15 per cent. NPPA has revised the prices of 11 formulations which includes insulins, popular antiseptic liquid Dettol and anti-inflammatory drugs.

IMF hope

New Delhi, May 5: The Indian economy is expected to rebound by the end of the current calendar year, the International Monetary Fund has said. “For India, we expect growth to slow markedly in 2009 before starting to rebound around year-end,” the IMF said.

Google probe

New York, May 5: The US government is investigating whether the close ties between the boards of Apple and Google violate the anti-trust laws, The New York Times said. According to the daily, Apple and Google share two directors, Eric E. Schmidt, CEO of Google, and Arthur Levinson, former CEO of Genentech.

StanChart net

London, May 5: Standard Chartered Plc has seen record levels of profit in the first quarter of 2009. Pointing out that the group remains “in very good shape”, StanChart has said that wholesale banking saw an excellent start to the year.

Ritz launch

New Delhi, May 5: Maruti Suzuki today said it would launch the country’s first Bharat Stage IV emission norms compliant car, Ritz, on May 15 in both petrol and diesel variants.

Diesel i20

Seoul, May 5: Hyundai Motor Company will bring the diesel variant of its premium hatchback i20 by the end of this year as part of its plan to introduce at least two models in the Indian market annually for the next couple of years.

Jet discount

Mumbai, May 5: Jet Airways is offering a special discount on applicable base fares, along with several prizes to its passengers. The special offer is effective for one month starting May 1.
