Calcutta
Take IIT easy

Edudigm, an initiative by students and alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, is conducting a scholarship-cum-aptitude test to help students from the region fare better in engineering exams. The initiative is aimed at students of classes IX and X aspiring to get into IIT, and science students of classes XI and XII preparing for IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other engineering exams, including state-level ones.

The new mentorship model prepared by the IITians, it is hoped, will guide IIT aspirants in a better way than do coaching institutes, which are more often than not very expensive. The exam aims to not only test students on basic concepts in physics, chemistry and maths, but also address misconceptions and problems faced by them. The top 50 students would be given a 100 per cent scholarship to join Edudigm’s mentorship programme.

The test will be conducted on May 2 in Calcutta, Siliguri, Durgapur and Kharagpur in West Bengal; Ranchi and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand; Guwahati in Assam; Bhubaneswar in Orissa; and Patna in Bihar. Registration fee is Rs 100 which shall be collected on the test day. A maximum of 150 students would be allowed to take the test at each centre. Students need to book a seat and obtain the registration number by calling Rajiv (09051820275/ 09321904704), Nishant (09332548028), Lokesh (09233314231), Manish (09734428106) or the Edudigm office (033-40034819).
