Imphal, April 13: Eastern Sporting Union defeated Tera Ideal Club boys by 88-40 points en route to the final of the 27th Sub-Junior State-Level Basketball Championship played at Nahabam ground in Imphal East today.
In another semi- final match, Lalambung Makhong Youth Voluntary Association outplayed Khurai Telepati EEC team by 59-28 points.
With the win, the Lalambung Makhong team will meet Eastern Sporting Union in the final tomorrow evening.
In the first semi-final today, individual play and lack of co-ordination spelt doom for the Tera Ideal Club team, as Eastern Sporting Union, with its better teamwork, outshone its opponents.
Eastern Sporting Union dominated in all four quarters of the game with 21-10, 45-23, 55-34 and 88-40 points.
Kasper was the topscorer for the Eastern Sporting with 32 points, while Boy Singh contributed 27 points, Dinachandra Singh gave 19 points, Lincoln scored eight points and Basanta Singh obtained two points.
For Tera Ideal Club, Betal Singh contributed 21 points, while Ozzy scored 17 points and Dhananjoy Singh fetched two points.
In another match, Lalambung Makhong Youth Voluntary Association had no qualms about taming the less experienced Khurai Telapati EEC today. The Lalambung Makhong team took the first quarter 20-10 and repeated the good work in the next quarter 34-11, 42-17 and 59-28.
As usual, Austin Singh of the Lalambung Makhong team scored 16 points, followed by Lubert with 14 points, Susorjit with eight, Nicky Singh and Tutu Singh with six points each, James Singh with three, Tejkishore Singh, Vicky Singh and Rorendro Singh scoring two points each for the win.
Raju Singh with 12, Dayananda Singh with eight, Biondy Singh with four, Johny Singh and Robert Singh with two points each were the chief contributors to Khurai Telapati EECs kitty.
