T20 school meet

Sixteen schools from the city will vie for the Victo Inter-school T20 cricket tournament, christened the Regent Cup, which kicks off on Tuesday. The 16 schools will be divided into four groups and the top-two teams from each group will advance to the quarter finals. The final will be played on April 17. Two matches will be played daily at two grounds — Sealdah and East Calcutta District Sports Council ground. Former Bengal captains Sambaran Banerjee and Devang Gandhi are part of the tournament’s governing council.

CAB league

Shambazar reached 360 for nine in their 85 overs against Customs in the CAB first division league on Saturday. Debapriya Ghosh (88), Rakesh Krishnan (80) and Surojit Das (76) came up with half centuries while Chandra Prakash Verma picked up four wickets for 93.
