Thieves arrested

Guwahati, March 6: Two vehicle thieves — Raju Ali and Ariful Haque — were arrested from Katahbari today and a motorcycle stolen from Gorchuk last night was recovered from them. A motorcycle was stolen from Paltan Bazar today.

Youth held

Guwahati: Saurav Das, 27, was arrested by Dispur police for allegedly trying to occupy a plot of land at Hengrabari on Thursday.

Body found

Guwahati: The body of Bipul Barman was recovered from Chamata in Assam’s Nalbari district on Friday. The body bore a bullet injury.

Reopened

Guwahati: Silk Queen, a garment shop damaged in the October 30 blast at Panbazar, reopened on Friday.

Children hurt

Rangia (PTI): Three children were seriously injured when some unspent cartridges exploded at Baksa’s army firing range late Friday.

Masterplan

Guwahati: The GMDA on Friday said the new masterplan for the city would be published after the Lok Sabha polls.
