Jusco & Tinplate win
- Second day of corporate cricket tourney

Jamshedpur, Feb. 26: Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (Jusco) and Tinplate posted wins on the second day of the inter-corporate cricket tournament for Steel Trophy at Keenan Stadium today.

Jusco defeated Lafarge by 23 runs while Tinplate registered a five-wicket win over RSB Group in the second tie.

Jusco scored 137 for nine in 20 overs after being invited to bat first. Rakesh Srivastava (28), Ekram Ghani (25), Manish Dubey (18) and Kamruddin (12) toiled hard in sultry conditions to help their team reach 137 runs.

Lafarge managed to score 114 runs before being dismissed in 18.4 overs.

Samir Panda top-scored with 25 runs, while Raju Ramchandran chipped in with 17 runs. R.S. Sharma scored 13. Jusco’s Lagan Kumar claimed three wickets for 17 while Sumit Das Gupta picked up two for eight. Manish Dubey, Ekram, Kamruddin and K.K. Biswas managed to take a wicket each.

Tinplate had a comfortable match against RSB. After restricting the latter to meagre 100 in 20 overs, Tinplate wasted little time in scoring the required runs in 14.2 overs by losing five wickets.

Aninda Maity (28) was the lone hand goading the RSB total higher, while Kanai Gorai (18) tried hard to stick to the wicket and score runs.

Chasing the score, Tinplate scored briskly with Jasbir Singh striking the ball hard for his 21 runs while Zaquir complemented him, and top-scored, with 26.
