A mute village belle in Sisir Sahana’s Mati Manush, a CID officer in Sudipto Ghatak-Ajay Singh’s Alive and a pivotal role in Mumbai-based Sunando Mitra’s untitled film. Dusky dame Pauli Dam is on a signing spree post-Kalbela, and giving her company in two films is Sabyasachi “Feluda” Chakraborty — as lover in one, as father in another!

“I am really excited to be paired opposite Benuda (Sabyasachi) in Alive! I am his fan. I had done a telefilm called Candle with him at the start of my career. I had just one scene with him. In Alive, we are in an extramarital affair!” gushes Pauli, who is also looking forward to Mati Manush, where Sabyasachi plays her father.

Mati Manush is a very different film. I have a challenging role. We start shooting in Bankura in April and soon after that I will shoot for Alive,” she adds.
