Hosts drub Karimganj

Nagaon, Feb. 15: Hosts Karbi Anglong defeated Karimganj by eight wickets in a quarter-final league match of the J.K. Baruah Trophy under-19 inter-district cricket tournament at the Karbi Anglong Sports Association Diphu ground here yesterday.

Electing to bat, Karimganj put up 133 runs on the board in 38.5 overs.

In reply, Karbi Anglong made 136 losing two wickets in 36.3 overs with opener Jitu Timung scoring 64 runs to emerge as the batting mainstay for his team.

Karbi Anglong will now meet Dibrugarh in another quarter-final league match tomorrow.

The two semi-finals will be played on Thursday and Friday, while the final match will be held on February 22 and 23.
