CAB ultimatum
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) tournament committee Tuesday issued an ultimatum to Mohammedan Sporting captain Uday Pratap Singh after he failed to turn up at the hearing in the ball-tampering issue in a CAB league match against Kalighat. The CAB joint secretary said: “Mohammedan Sporting secretary Sultan Ahmed called up and said that his captain is ill and cannot attend the meeting. We have given them time till Monday and if they don’t turn up then we will have to opt for the ex parte option.”
Golf meet
Chandra Das with 63 is in the lead after Day I of the 28th Taj Bengal Trophy at the Tollygunge Club on Tuesday. Oona Khanna with 68 is in the second place.
U-17 cricket
Mainland Sambaran Cricket Academy (MSCA) reached the pre-quarter final of the CAB under-17 junior meet beating Bhukailash Sporting by 40 runs Tuesday.
BRIEF SCORES: MSCA 172 all out in 37.3 overs (Souvik Dutta 42). Bhukailash Sporting 132 (Sujit Tiwary; Asif Pradhan 4/34). MSCA won by 40 runs
