Hazaribagh, Jan. 23: Residents of Lawalong in Chatra today took out a march in protest against the bandh called by the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI). The residents marched 10km from Bagra to Simeria Chowk.
The PLFI had called a bandh in Palamau and Chatra from Tuesday to Monday but called it off in Palamau today.
Lawalong, about 26km from the district headquarters, is the hometown of several bigwigs of PLFI. But today, the people showed unusual courage and raised voice against extremist diktats that had causes frequent bandhs in the area. They claimed that Naxalism has affected developmental in the area. Besides, a large number of innocent people have been killed.
The people’s march angered PLFI. It said that residents came out on the roads on the provocation of Tritiya Prastuti Committee.
