Students to get job guidance

Siliguri, Jan. 15: Flying Cats Academy and Global Retail School will hold the Annual Career Counselling Mega Event in association with ABP here on January 20 to expose students of the region to career options.

Targeted at Class XII students, the programme is for schools in north Bengal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal where children are deprived of chances to make it to the global job market because of lack of proper guidance.

“In the current scenario, we feel that students — barring a few privileged ones — in this part of the world cannot aspire to excel at the state and national levels or abroad as there is no proper mechanism to guide them. This programme will provide them with the much needed assistance for career planning at the crucial juncture of their life,” said Priya Gajamer, head of the academy in Siliguri.

The event will be held at Dinabandu Mancha from 12pm to 4pm during which there will be an interactive session with panellists who are experts in their respective professions. They will inform the students on various jobs and ways to apply for them.
