Ranchi, Jan. 12: The CESC Limited, an RPG group company, has started serious efforts to ensure that its proposed 1,000MW thermal-based power plant in Kathikund in Dumka takes shape with minimum displacement of people, reports our correspondent.
CESC executive director (business development) Vinod Kumar said: “A captive coal block has been allocated at Mahuagarhi, 10km from the plant. Environmental studies have been completed and clearance for water withdrawal has been obtained. We require only about 328 acres of private land largely unsuitable for cultivation. There will be no displacement of dwelling units and only a small check-dam needs to be built.”
