Patna: Achanta Sharath Kamal and K. Shamini of PSPB have been given top billing in the men’s and women’s singles events, respectively, in the 70th Senior National Table Tennis championship.

Subhojit Saha and A. Amal Raj (both representing PSPB) were placed second and third respectively followed by Sourav Chakraborty (RSPB), G. Sathiyan (Tamil Nadu), Aman Balgu (Maharastra), Devesh Karia (PSPB) and Aniket Koparkar (Maharashtra).

The pairs of Saha/Amal Raj, Neha Aggrawal/ K. Shamini and A. Amal Raj/K. Shamini — all from PSPB — were the top seeds in the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles categories respectively.

In women’s singles, Neha Aggarwal of PSPB was seeded second followed by teammates Madhurika Patkar, Poulami Ghatak, Pooja, Sahasrabudhe, besides Anindita Chakraborty and Prajakta Tipale (RSPB).

In men’s doubles, Sourav Chakraborty/Anirban Nandi (RSPB) were seeded second followed by Devesh Karia/Zubin Kumar (PSPB) and Sanil Shetty/Aniket Koparkar (Maharashtra ‘A’). Susmita Ray/ Madhurika Patkar (PSPB) were placed second in the women’s doubles followed by Poulami Ghatak/Mouma Das (PSPB) and Anindita Chakraborty/Soumona Bose (RSPB).

In mixed doubles, Subhojit Saha/Nandita Saha were seeded second followed by Zubin Kumar/Madhurika Parkar and Devesh Karia/Susmita Ray (all from PSPB). (PTI)
