Prosenjit and Rachna Shah: Reel vs real |
He aspires to direct a film someday but before getting behind the camera, Prosenjit is turning director before the camera one more time. After Rituparno Ghoshs Khela, Prosenjit plays a failed filmmaker in Bappaditya Bandopadhyays Houseful.
My film is a thriller. It has nothing in common with Khela, Bappaditya is quick to clarify. Houseful revolves around director Nikhil (Prosenjit) who has only given flops and is now desperate to deliver a hit.
Its a mainstream film and I am glad that Prosenjit is so keen on doing it. He has taken a lot of interest in the script. I wanted Nikhil to be a mature human being and Prosenjit fits the bill, says Bappaditya.
Of the three women, whom Prosenjit will cast in his films, one is Rang Rasiya hottie Rachna Shah. The other two are Rimjhim Gupta and Rwita Dutta Chakraborty.
These three women are actresses but Prosenjits character is confused about them. He cannot draw the line between films and reality.... Houseful has got a lot to do with my personal experience as a director, says Bappaditya, whose Kantataar and Kaal didnt see box-office success but had toured the festivals. I dont think directors should go on making films year after year. I made my first film Sampradan when I was only 28. I took a three-year break before I did Shilpantar. After that there was a two-year gap before I made Devaki and Kantataar.
Bangla band Kaya has arranged the music for three tracks in the film. Produced by Algos Entertainment, Houseful goes on the floors next week.
