Imphal, Jan. 5: Yaipha Thousil Lup (B), Kwakeithel, defeated Ibudhou Marjing Social Union Club, Heingang 2-1 in the men’s regu event of the 3rd Arambam Somorendra State-Level Men and Women’s Open Sepak Takraw Championship at Sagolband Meino Leirak ground here today.

In the regu event, Yaipha Thousil Lup won the first set by 21-17 points. The Ibudhou Marjing team clinched the second set 21-19. In the third and final set, Yaipha Thousil Lup won by 15-11 points.

In another men’s event, the Manipur Police Sports Club (B) team scripted a 2-1 set win against Youth Amateur Welfare Association (B). Youth Athletic Sepak Takraw Association, Thoubal, will take on Ibudhou Marjing Social Union Club while Youth Amateur Welfare Association (A) will meet Youth Amateur Welfare Association (B) in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Youth Amateur Welfare Association (A) defeated hosts Sagolband Sepak Takraw Association (A) in 2-0 sets, 21-14, 21-14. Youth Athletic Sepak Takraw Association, Thoubal, beat Youth Amateur Welfare Association (B) in 2-1 sets, 16-21, 21-11, 16-14.

Youth Amateur Welfare Association (A) defeated Ibudhou Marjing Social Union Club 2-0. Ibudhou Marjing Social Union Club beat hosts Sagolband Sepak Takraw Association (A). Youth Amateur Welfare Association (B) defeated Sagolband Sepak Takraw Association (B).
