Camp busted
Nagaon, Jan. 1: A joint team of police and army busted a camp of the Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front at Langlukshu in Karbi Anglong this morning and arrested one militant.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered.
Body found
Kokrajhar: The body of a youth, bearing severe injuries, was recovered from a tunnel near the Music and Fine Arts College in Kokrajhar on Thursday morning. It was later found that 28-year-old Krishna Sahu had gone missing from his neighbourhood on Tuesday.
Cattle seized
Dhubri: Forty-seven cows being smuggled to Bangladesh were seized by the 29 Battalion of the BSF from various parts of Moslabari char in Dhubri on Wednesday night.
Accidents
Kokrajhar: Hariprasad Mitra, 52, died when his vehicle overturned on National Highway 31 (C) in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar on Thursday. Elsewhere in the district, a 42-year-old employee of the forest department, Naturam Ramchiary, was run over by a speeding truck at Panijani.
