Guwahati, Jan. 1: The semi-final line-up for the 2nd Abani Hazarika Inter-school (under-16) Cricket Tournament, under way at Janata Bhavan Parade Ground here, was drawn up today.
Army Public School, Beltola will play Adarsh Hindi Vidyalaya and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara will clash with Kendriya Vidyalaya, Maligaon (KVM) in the two semi-finals tomorrow.
KVM and Adarsh Hindi Vidyalaya today made it to the semi-finals beating Purbottar Hindi High School by 27 runs and Sakuntala Montessory School by six wickets in the third and fourth quarter-finals respectively.
Put to bat first, KVM scored 124 for three in the stipulated 20 overs and Purbottar Hindi High School were all out for 112 in 14 overs.
Bibhas Kalita topscored for KVM with an unbeaten 57 and Victor Indrajit and Amit Kumar Yadav chipped in with useful knocks of 25 and 22 respectively. Tairik Roy of Purbottar School scalped a wicket for 22 runs.
Roy also scored 24 runs while Bibhas Kalita and Joydeb Seal of KVM shared three wickets each, conceding 24 and 27 runs respectively. Keshab Bharali claimed two for 18. Bibhas Kalita was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the other match, Sakuntala Montessory elected to bat first and were restricted to 127 for six in 20 overs.
Chasing the modest total, Adarsh Vidyalaya reached 130 for four in 12.2 overs.
For Sakuntala Montessory, Arjun Das scored 35 and Kishore Kumar Baruah contributed 20. Bidyut Barman also chipped in with 11. Sambhu Jha and Vikash Singh of Adarsh claimed a wicket each for 20 and 17 respectively.
Later, Vikash Singh remained unbeaten on 61, slamming four sixes and seven boundaries off 26 balls to be eventually named Man of the Match.
Surinder Kumar also chipped in with 22. Tridip Goswami of Sakuntala Montessory scalped two for 19.
