Pujara seals thrilling win

Mumbai: Saurashtra’s positive intent showed on the field as they successfully and comfortably chased 325 to hand Karnataka a five-wicket thrashing in the Ranji Trophy quarter final here on Monday.

Resuming at 10 for two, Saurashtra rode a 163-run partnership between Cheteshwar Pujara and Sitanshu Kotak to emerge victors at the Brabourne Stadium. Pujara anchored the innings with a composed 112 not out (224 balls, 15x4), his fourth century of the season, but it was Kotak’s decisive 87 (147 balls, 12x4) that turned the match on its head.
