I’ve experimented with a lot of stuff and try my best to not use cosmetics on my skin at all. Since modelling involves the use of lots of make-up, when I’m not on the ramp I simply use kajal, lipgloss and a good moisturiser (Clarions Day Cream). At night, I sometimes use a night cream, but on most occasions, I prefer letting my skin breathe. I make sure that I flit between brands every two months, because
otherwise your skin and hair tend to get accustomed to the product and I don’t like that. I tend to use mild shampoos because I shampoo my hair everyday. I like using
L’Oreal (the one that protects hair colour) especially before a show
because of the all the cosmetics used on the hair. |
I know that bobs are really fashionable right now but I have flashbacks to when I was a kid with a bowl cut, and I just cant go there. I do want a shorter, more put-together look for work, but Im so afraid of looking like I did when I was five! Any suggestions?

You need to ask yourself what it was about your hair that you didnt like when you were younger. Was it the bluntness of the cut, the bangs, the length or what? You are right that bobs are very popular right now but its not the same cut that you probably had as a child.
Bobs today offer a wide variety of looks, lengths, angles and textures, and are cut to suit the individual wearer. If you dont like bangs, then have your stylist leave that part longer or consider a long side-swept version.
If you dont like bluntness, have them cut with more edge. If you object to a certain length, then strive for something a bit longer or even shorter. Also depending on your hair type, consider having some layering or texturising to allow a different finish.
These are all things a good salon professional should be able to help you sort out. |
