Stocking Fillers

Knick-knacks to fill up stockings (or to occupy pride of place on the mantelpiece) are a huge hit on shopping lists. Drop in at Infinity at Mani Square Mall if crystal baubles are your kind of gifts. You could go for a miniature airplane priced at Rs 3,300, or a crystal birdcage with dainty birds in blue and pink for Rs 4,735 or even a dazzling eagle for Rs 5,900.

Swarovski at Forum too, has a new Christmas Collection. The pick of the lot is the delicate angel at Rs 14,600. You could also go for a green crystal Christmas tree complete with bright red crystal trinkets, for Rs 31,000 or even pick up a clear crystal stag at Rs 24,600.

If porcelain is your passion, then look no further than Lladró. Handmade collectibles capture the spirit of the festival perfectly. Go for a piece with three porcelain angels (Rs 11,800) or an infant Jesus in a basket (Rs 14,500) or the pièce de résistance — Santa’s Midnight Ride — flawlessly crafted and given a glazed finish, priced at a whopping Rs 1.93 lakh.

Body beautiful

Graphiti columnist Suparna Trikha Dewan has just the right gifts. Get one of her pretty Christmas stockings, loaded with a shampoo, a conditioner and a moisturiser for Rs 300. Dewan also gives you the option to customise gift hampers though these will cost between Rs 500 and Rs 1,200 depending on products you pick — all of which are made from natural ingredients. The Body Shop at Avani Mall has a special Christmas range of cranberry and rich plum products like body butter, body scrub, loofah, shower cream and even scented candles, which can be put together in a customised hamper. The gift sets come at about Rs 2,495.

You’ll never go wrong with itsy bitsy things to pretty up a tree either. You could start with a Swarovski Christmas star priced anywhere between Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,700. At Lladró, pick up the porcelain bells in duck egg blue and little Christmas balls in white and gold, priced between Rs 4,600 and Rs 5,100.

Don’t forget the junior members of the family when it comes to getting Christmas decorations. The Christmas range at Archies promise tots a great time doing up a tree. Little tinsel stars in silver, little drums, Christmas balls in a riot of colours are just some of the picks. Prices are between Rs 125 and Rs 175.

You could also celebrate a green Christmas with decorations from eCoexist. Made from recycled cloth and paper you could check out a sachet of six decorations shaped like stars, crescent moons, stockings and more, which cost about Rs 250 (for cotton) to Rs 300 (for silk). Call 0985084383.

sweet nothings

A little something to sweeten the deal is the way to go. At Kookie Jar look out for candy houses, Christmas cookies shaped like trees, stars or Santa and cupcakes with a snowman on each piece. Traditional Christmas puddings and fruitcakes are also flying off the racks. Prices are upwards of Rs 25.

Drop in at Flury’s for chocolate boxes or the marzipan figures of Santa, snowmen and more. Cookies and gingerbread houses, cakes and the Yule log — you’ll find whatever you need between Rs 30 and Rs 1,000.

For more cookies head for Cookie Man in South City Mall which is offering a range of festive tins and jars of cookies shaped like a snowman or get them filled in knitted stockings, priced between Rs 330 and Rs 395.

Chocaholics must stop by Chocolatier at Forum which has special boxes of handmade chocolates for Christmas, sold by weight. Prices range between Rs 60 and Rs 600.
