2 die in mishaps

A 25-year-old man, Bikash Jena, died on the spot after his motorcycle collided with a truck carrying CRPF personnel at Panikhati on Wednesday morning.

another incident, Bipul Saikia, 28, died after his motorcycle hit the road divider at Noonmati on Wednesday evening. Saikia died on his way to hospital.

Complaint

The Consumers Legal Protection Forum on Wednesday said the Assam Human Rights Commission has registered a case and initiated necessary proceedings in connection with the death of Ashish Sinha, who died after he fell into an uncovered manhole in Gopinath Nagar. The forum claimed that the commission registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the former.

Meeting

The Guwahati district committee of Purbanchali Loka Parishad on Wednesday organised a meeting on the problem of unemployment in Assam and its impact in society at Bhagawati Prasad Baruah Bhawan.

Demand

GMC action
