Children do a balancing act as they cross the Nonai at Changpara near Alipurduar. The residents threatened that they would block the road to Barobisha if Chaporerpar I panchayat did not repair the bridge within seven days. Jagannath Das, the upapradhan, said funds for the repair had been sanctioned and there was no question of the panchayat compromising the safety of the people. Picture by Anirban Choudhury
