A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit from behind by a speeding vehicle near Nicco Park on Sunday evening.

Sukumar Maity, a member of a wedding band, lay bleeding on the road for about 45 minutes before pedestrians and police took him to Bidhannagar sub-divisional hospital. He was transferred to NRS Hospital.

In another mishap, five persons were injured after being thrown off a rickshaw when it was hit by a car near City Centre in Salt Lake. The five were taken to Bidhannagar sub-divisional hospital.
