Sourav keen on more ties

Calcutta: Sourav Ganguly has expressed his desire to play in Bengal’s remaining Ranji Trophy matches this season.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint secretary Arun Mitra said that the former India captain, who has already decided that he will play against Vidarbha, is keen to see Bengal back in the Elite Group and wants to contribute himself.

“Sourav called me to say that he wants to play all the matches, starting from the Vidarbha match. He said ‘we need to do everything possible to ensure Bengal are back in the elite league. So I’ll play all the matches.’” Mitra said.

Mitra also said that there is high possibility of Muttiah Muralidharan playing the match against Vidarbha.
