Saurashtra thrash Rajasthan

Rajkot: A fine piece of spin bowling by off-spinner Kamlesh Makwana helped Saurashtra thrash Rajasthan by an inning and 74 runs to secure six points on the third day of the Elite Division Ranji Trophy match here.

Resuming at their overnight 106/5, visitors Rajasthan failed to avoid the follow on as they were bundled out for 185 off 81.2 overs.

Makwana was the most successful bowler in the first innings with figures of four for 74, while Ravindra Jadeja finished with three for 36.

In their second innings, Rajasthan fared even worse and were bowled out for a paltry 85 in just 45.3 overs.

Makwana returned to haunt the visitors again as he grabbed four wickets for 31 runs to end with match figures of eight for 105. Sandip Jobanputra and Ravindra Jadeja supported him well by chipping in with two wickets each.
