Imphal, Nov. 27: The 1st Manipur State Games for the physically challenged will be held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex from December 2-3.

The two-day event will be organised by Paralympic Committee of Manipur.

There will be different categories depending on the nature of disability, like wheelchair, ambulant/amputee, visually impaired and dwarf. They will be different disciplines like Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Judo, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting and Rugby.

According to committee general secretary M. Inao Singh, the main objective of the meet is to convey the idea that disability does not necessarily mean exploitation or excommunication and that it is also possible for a disabled person to overcome the handicap and lead an active life.
