B>n Bokakhat, Nov. 24: A three-wheeler loaded with timber was seized by police from Chappajuri area under Bokakhat police station late last night. he vehicle was on its way to Dergaon from Dholamora in Karbi Anglong. Two persons have been detained.
Expelled
B>n Dhubri: Nikhil Rai, who was arrested by the army recently for his alleged links with Ulfa and the Kamtapur Liberation Organisation, has been expelled from the Greater Kamtapur Peoples Council, said Hari Mohan Barman, president of the council.
Rural funds
B>n Sonitpur: The Centre has agreed to disburse Rs 1,065 lakh for 247 schemes under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in Sonitpur. Sixty per cent of the funds has been released.
Two bridges
B>n Bongaigaon: The Centre has sanctioned two RCC bridges in Bongaigaon and Dibrugarh districts. The bridge in Bongaigaon will come up over river Sakati and the one in Dibrugarh on Gaurisagar Moran Road.
