Shillong, Nov. 24: The Garo Hills-based Liberation of Achik Elite Force is recruiting computer literates and juveniles to widen its network.

A senior police official today said this came to light following the arrest of nine LAEF militants near Pilangkatta in Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi district on November 18.

“Computer-savvy people were being employed to operate from inaccessible terrain to hoodwink intelligence personnel, while juveniles got the menial tasks done smoothly.”

“The arrested juveniles — Molin Sangma, 17, and Ranjit Marak, 15, — and computer expert George Sangma are new recruits,” he said.
