Court custody for duo
- Dispur shielding perpetrators of blasts: Opposition

Guwahati, Nov. 22: The two accused in the serial blasts case, Sabin Boro, a former NDFB home secretary and Tenzing G. Zangpo, a senior leader of a faction of the Druk National Congress, were today remanded in 14 days’ judicial custody.

The duo was produced in the CJM court on expiry of their police remand.

Besides, the three persons arrested for the post-blast vandalism in Ganeshguri — Gagan Chandra Mahanta, Dhan Barman and M. Khandakar — were also remanded in judicial custody.

While Boro and Zangpo were arrested on November 12 from a rented house here, the trio were arrested on November 19.

Sources said that the investigators have started raiding the places where the suspects had taken shelter in the city prior to the blasts.

In a related development, the Opposition today staged a sit-in in front of the Raj Bhavan seeking dismissal of the Tarun Gogoi government for allegedly protecting the perpetrators of the blasts.

“The Opposition seeks dismissal of the government for its failure to curb terrorism and shielding the culprits responsible for the blasts ,” senior AGP leader Atul Bora said.

The AGP, BJP, NCP, PLP, ASDC, BPPF and Samata Party participated in the dharna.
