GOA CALLING

Whatever be the season, good old Goa will always be ‘the’ place for a holiday. What’s more, there’s always a deal waiting to be grabbed. The latest tie-up between Sarovar Hotels and IndiGo airlines promises you a value-for-money Goa break. The Lazy Lagoon Sarovar Portico Suites is a 39-room boutique property, located in north Goa, bang on Baga beach. The package, valid right through to September 30, 2009, makes it mandatory for you to stay for a minimum of two nights and three days. The holiday will be yours for Rs 5,999 (ex-Delhi) and Rs 4,799 (ex-Mumbai) per person, per day. This will take care of the airfare, airport transfers, accommodation, all meals, half-day sightseeing and another half-day cruise. You can chill at the resort’s swimming pool, gymnasium or well-equipped spa. And at Balcao, the 24-hour coffee shop-cum-restaurant, be sure to have a hearty meal, as it offers an extensive menu. The rooms offer wi-fi connectivity too. For more call 9958592237 in Delhi and 9987070604 in Mumbai or log on to www.sarovarhotels.com.

Holiday hotspot

My favourite holiday destination is Goa with its sun-kissed beaches and beautiful scenery. It’s an ideal place for a holiday, because it can be serene and peaceful, if you know where to go, and throbbing with life as well. You can enjoy yourself completely in Goa; hang out with friends in the shacks and just basically chill. It’s also very accessible — all you need to do is hop on to a flight and get there.
