DHD camp busted

Nagaon, Nov. 20: The 17 J&K Regiment and Assam police in a joint operation yesterday demolished a rebel camp belonging to the Jewel Gorlosa faction of the Dima Halam Daogah at Lankhowal village in North Cachar Hills district.

Accident

Dhubri: A person identified as Mohiruddin Sheikh, 38, was killed by a speeding truck at Agomoni under Golokganj police station in Dhubri district on Thursday. Two others were injured.

Foundation

Cachar: The foundation stone for a 3.5km road and steps leading to the Bhuban temple in Cachar district was laid by Union minister of heavy industries and public enterprises Sontosh Mohan Dev recently.

Campaign

Barpeta: A public information campaign was held in Barpeta to spread awareness. Health officials appe- aled to the people to avail of facilities under the National Rural Health Mission. Over 20 departments and NGOs partici- pated in the exhibition organised on the occasion.
