Leopard attack
Nagaon, Nov. 18:
Five persons were injured when a leopard attacked them at Kampur Sengajan in Nagaon this mor-ning. The incident took place when the leopard came down from the nearby hills. Those injured have been shifted to Nagaon civil hospital.
Resthouse
Kokrajhar:
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of a resthouse at Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district. BTC executive member Emanual Mushahary said a guesthouse would be constructed in each subdivision of BTC.
Cattle seized
Dhubri:
Altogether 38 heads of cattle, worth Rs 24.41 lakh, were seized from different places along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri from smugglers by the BSF on Tuesday. They were seized from Patamari, Hatidura Char, Mantrir Char and Saitanbari Char.
Barbila Beel
Nalbari:
Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi has directed Nalbari deputy commissioner G.D. Tripathi to develop Barbila Beel as a tourist spot under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme during the current fiscal.
