Imphal, Nov. 17: A sub-editor of Imphal Free Press, an English daily here, was shot dead by unidentified persons in Imphal West this evening.

Police found the body of Konsam Rishikanta Singh, 25, a resident of Ningomthong of Imphal East district, in Langol, very close to the Manipur zoological garden, at 5pm, says our correspondent.

Police said two bullet wounds were visible on the head and chin. Rishikantawas blindfolded. Police said some unknown persons brought him and shot himfrom close range.

Staff of the daily could not give any clue to the motive of the killing andidentities of the assailants.

The body is kept at the mortuary of the Regional Institute of MedicalSciences for post mortem. Eom.
