Students’ demand
The All Guwahati Students’ Union on Sunday demanded punishment to those involved in the alleged misappropriation of funds and compromise on quality in the construction of the Rs 26-lakh environmental science department building at Gauhati University.
Body found
A body was found by the roadside near Hanuman temple in Maligaon on Sunday morning. Police said the unidentified man, who appeared in his 50s, was wearing grey trousers and a blue shirt.

Clash cases
Police registered two cases on Sunday in connection with a clash between a group of residents and some CRPF personnel at Noonmati on Saturday night that caused minor injuries to some persons.
Six arrested
Jalukbari police on Sunday arrested the six car thieves who were picked up from different areas late on Friday night. They will be produced in the court on Monday.
