Mohilary alleges ISI hand

Kokrajhar, Nov. 14: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary today said the serial blasts in the state were masterminded by third forces like ISI and jihadis.

The groundwork for the blasts was done by the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), he alleged.

Mohilary said it was “hard to believe that the NDFB could trigger the blasts in Kokrajhar” and condemned the killing of innocent people.

NDFB general secretary Gobinda Basumatary today met special investigation team (SIT) chief R. Chandranathan here. The SIT this evening picked up one Rahul Patowari from Baksa district in connection with the blasts.

Meanwhile, NDFB member Pabitra Boro, who, along with one R. Shelja, was picked up by the police from the outfit’s designated camp at Borbori in Baksa district on Wednesday, was produced before the CJM court today and remanded for seven days in police custody.

The All Assam Students Union (AASU) and the All Bodo Students Union (Absu) also expressed their displeasure over the progress of the investigations into the blasts.

They said the revelation made by the investigation was confusing and politically motivated.

The two students’ organisations alleged that the government was trying to shield jihadi forces.

Some anti-national forces had even hoisted the Pakistani flag at Udalguri recently.

The students’ organisations also warned the government against indulging in politics over such a tragic outcome.
