Happy children get new home

Hazaribagh, Nov. 10: It was a red letter day for West Bokaro as one of its oldest children’s institutions, Happy Kindergarten School, was finally ready to move into a new, modern and spacious campus, courtesy Tata Steel.

Children welcomed Awdesh Kumar Ojha, the Tata Steel GM for West Bokaro, as he inaugurated the 10,000 sq feet facility which is a far cry from its earlier 3,000 sq feet space.

According to Rupesh Sharma, a corporate communications official of the company, the new building boasts of six classrooms, besides a pantry, toilets and a well-designed assembly space.

One of the best know pre-nursery schools of the area, Happy Kindergarten School has been around for 15 years and is the first choice for parents looking for a play school that would prepare children for admission to a regular English-medium schools.

Today, the school runs per-nursery, nursery and lower KG classes. And Sharma added that not only West Bokaro, but children from nearby villages also came their.

After the inauguration, Ojha meet school children and their parents to apprise them of the steps taken by Tata Steel to improve the school. He said a committee had been formed to run the school efficiently.

Parents also expressed their happiness about the new school building which Sharma added was conceived and built by the company’s civil and structural maintenance and welfare cell.

Sharma said the management of Tata Steel in West Bokaro had earlier provided new buildings to Jharkhand State High School and State Middle School.

Also, the Tata Steel rural development society also provided quality services in the fields of health and hygiene, agriculture and irrigation, income generation schemes, and training and marketing for artefacts for the villages surrounding West Bokaro.
