Dibrugarh:
Radheshyam Sahu of JB College, Jorhat and Pronita Tamuli of MDK Girls College, Dibrugarh, clinched the men and women’s titles of Dibrugarh University Inter-college Table Tennis Tournament here at NLB City College on Friday. In the finals, Sahu defeated Partha Pratim Gogoi of NLB City College, Dibrugarh, 4-2 and Tamuli blanked her collegemate Deepika Gogoi, 4-0.
Football team
Hailakandi:
The Assam under-19 football team left for Gurgaon in Haryana on Friday, to play in the junior national (under-19) women’s football championship. The Assam team will play against Chandigarh on Monday while the other league match is on November 7 against Bengal. The other match of the group will be held on November 5 between Bengal and Chandigarh.
Dulu XI win
Hailakandi:
Dulu XI defeated Arkatipur Sujuki Club 3-1 in the final of the prize-money knockout football championship at Rongpur High School playground in Silchar on Thursday. The Rongpur Youth Seva Sangha Sporting Club organised the tournament. Paotana Rongmei scored two goals in the 17th and 22nd minutes, while Paijan Rongmei scored the other goal in the 19th minute.
