CAB letter

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Friday decided to write another letter to the former office bearers asking them to clarify in writing (within a week) whether they had at all received any written confirmation from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) officials that the money spent in the inaugural IPL would be repaid in full. This comes after KKR officials made it clear that not a penny more than Rs 3.5 crore will be paid by them to the CAB.

Soccer meet

The Calcutta Rangers Club will host the Rangers Merchants Cup Soccer meet from November 3 through to November 30.

Snooker final

Brijesh Damani will lock horns with Manish Jain in the final of the BRC State Snooker Championship at the Bengal Rowing Club on Saturday. On Friday, while Brijesh ousted Ankit Kariwala 4-0 in the first semi-final, Manish came back from behind to beat Shakil Ahmed 4-1 to qualify for the final.

Tennis referee

The AITA has designated city official Joy Mukherjee as the tournament referee for the ITF Seniors’ event to be held at Noida, from November 3.
