Killed

Dibrugarh, Oct. 14: The body of an unidentified middle-aged woman was recovered from a sack on B.C. Das Road at Shantipara in Dibrugarh today.

The body bore weapon injuries and is suspected to have been dumped there by the assailants.

Trampled

Nagaon: A 55-year-old farmer, Jumu Mura, was trampled to death by an elephant at Damaniborbari in Nagaon on Tuesday morning. Mura was working in the field when the elephant attacked.

Donation

Kokrajhar: Employees of the Bodoland Territorial Council on Tuesday donated a day’s salary towards relief funds being collected for support of those affected by the Udalguri violence.

Power project

Dibrugarh: The Centre has retained the transmission and distribution of power project for consideration. The Rs 411-lakh project will improve the power situation in the district.
