Phenomenale, much in demand after the 7-4 course favourite, Dancing Dynamite, scored an easy victory in the 2,000m Nanoli Stud Pune Derby, a Grade I race, which was the main attraction at the Pune races on Sunday. Ridden by C. Rajendra, the Pesi Shroff-trained horse was taken to the front from the start of the race and the Montjeu-Contrarian daughter retained the advantage till the end to beat the favourite by a length at the wire. Antonios placed third by an identical margin. Incidentally, it was Phenomenale’s third outing in her short racing career.

The winner took home a whopping purse about Rs 31.62 Lakh, in addition to the trophy valued at Rs 75,000.
