Bomb on bus
Guwahati, Oct. 11:
A three-kg bomb was recovered from a public bus near Bishnu Dhaba in Nalbari district at 11am on Saturday. he bus was on its way from Barpeta Road to Guwahati. Three persons have been picked up in this connection.
Smuggler
Dhubri:
A trans-border smuggler, Sohidur Rahman, was apprehended with cattle while 252kg contraband and 49 cattle worth Rs 22 lakh were seized by BSF from two different places along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri district on Saturday. BSF also seized five country boats with wheat and rice during overnight raids along the border.

Chuba Chang, council chairman of Tuensang village, was killed while three others were seriously injured when their private vehicle fell into a deep gorge on National Highway 61 near Botsa. In another incident, an unidentified woman was run over by a goods train near Dimapur railway station on Friday.
