Jammu: Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Sushil Kumar will take part in the 4th Rustam-e-Indo-Pak Dangal (wrestling) starting from October 5 at Katra here.

“The 4th wrestling champion — which is part of 13th Navratra festival, will be held on October 5 at Vivekananda Sports Stadium at Katra in which Sushil would be honoured,” divisional commissioner of Jammu, Sadhanshu Panday told reporters on Sunday.

According to Panday, Sushil will be also awarded with a cash reward of Rs 51,000 in addition to the traditional silver Gurj by the Navratra festival committee on the occasion.

Top grapplers from Pakistan would battle it out for top honours against their Indian counterparts in the Dangal to be organised by the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with Navratra festival committee.

The Indian team comprises national and international wrestlers from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Railway and Jammu and Kashmir.
