Power supply disruption
Power supply may be affected between 10am and 1pm on Saturday in Barisha, Biren Roy Road (West), Sakherbazar, Santosh Roy Road, Motilal Gupta Road, Putiary Kalipara, Putiary Kancha Road, Putiary Kalipur, Kalipada Mukherjee Road, Behala Chowrasta, Sarsuna, Gopal Misra Road, Janakalyan Road, Nabalia Para, Sarkerhat, Dakshin Behala, Ananda Nagar, Sashi Bhusan Banerjee Road, James Long Sarani, Bhuban Mohan Roy Road, Seal Para, Barisha Narasingha Dutta Road and Barisha Purbapara because of maintenance work by CESC.
Housewife killed
A 32-year-old housewife was killed in Sonarpur, on the southern city fringes, allegedly by her husband and in-laws. Police said Mahua Pramanick was regularly tortured for dowry. Her father alleged her husband Sumanta and mother-in-law Sandhya forced her to drink poison on Friday night. The mother and son were arrested.
Train restored
South Eastern Railway has decided to restore the Howrah-Yesvantpur Express to its normal route, via Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Khurdah Road and Vishakapatnam, from Saturday. The train is scheduled to leave Howrah station at 8.35pm on Saturday.
Clarification
Apropos the report “Apex court blow to Todi”, September 26, Ashok Todi’s lawyer Rana Mukherjee clarified on Friday that his clients have received a copy of the high court order. The error is regretted.
