Imphal, Sept. 25: Gurumayum Shyamkanhai Sharma of Manipur Rifles Association fetched a gold double on the opening day of the 18th All-Manipur Shooting Competition at Khuman Lampak shooting range today.
He won the first gold in the 25-metre men’s individual standard pistol event with a score of 255 out of 300. L. Tomba Singh of SAI RC with a score of 250 had to settle for the second berth. T. Surkumar Singh of Manipur Rifles Association fetched the third spot with a score of 238.
Others shooters of the standard pistol event are P. Charanjit Singh with 237, G. Gunamani Sharma with 214, H. Ishwarlal Singh with 212, Ph. Khamba Singh with 200, Ak. Deben Singh with 192, L. Dinachandra Singh with 191, G. Yaima Sharma with 190, Benjamin Papao Touthang with 179, W. Bobby Singh with 150, Sanjeev Nongmeirokpam with 145 and Rk. Jayantakumar Singh with 139 points.
Sharma’s second gold came in the 50-metre men’s individual free pistol event. In this event he fetched 250 out of 300 to win the gold, while B. Madan Kumar Sharma of Manipur Police Sports Club came second with a score of 248. Rajkumar Salendra Singh of Manipur Rifles Association came third with a score of 231. The other shooters of this event are P. Charanjit Singh with 229, G. Gunamani Sharma with 220, Ph. Khamba Singh with 220, Ngamkhohao Kipgen with 219, W. Bobby Singh with 214 and L. Dinachandra Singh with 202 points.
Nameirakpam Chingkhei Meitei of Manipur Rifles Association won the 50-metre junior men’s individual free pistol gold. Meitei fetched 226 out of 300 for the medal.
